Hi to all . . . I'm Carrie, a kindergarten teacher out here in sunny California. I got into this genealogy thing a few years ago and with the help of some very resourceful e-genealogists, I've been able to gather a good deal of information on my family rather quickly. Special thanks to my 20-year-old daughter Jennifer, without whom none of this would have been possible.

On my husband Bruce's side of the tree, we've gone back to Captain Thomas Carter of Barford, England in the 1600's and past him to the 1400's, and William Hardage of 1700's Georgia. My line goes back to Thomas Applegate of Norfolkshire, England, 1604. And somehow, I've attached a royal English line that goes back into the tenth century.

Common surnames in my ever-growing, 20,000-name tree include Hardage, Bailey, Applegate, Blakemore, Redinger, Ferguson, Carter, Underwood, Wiley, and Skipwith; these people are from all over the United States, too many places to get any more specific!

I'm always excited to hear from distant relatives or anyone who can help me fill in some holes in my tree, particularly with the Hardage and Bailey families.
