BURKE/CARVAJAL/CHANDLER/COCHRAN/FAIRWEATHER/FOSTER/MATLOCK/MILNE/SPERRY/TURNER/TYLER/WHITAKER Jabez Newton BURKE, born June 2, 1840, Shiloh Hills, Claire County, Illinois came to California in 1961. He drove an mule train between Sacramento and Virginia City.He was also a miner and a past master of the I.O.O.F. The COCHRAN's come from Armagh, Ireland about 1700. Glass Cochran came to Blandford, MA in the United States about 1750. My Cochrans migrated West to Sullivan County, NY.In turn my grandfather migrated in 1861 to Iowa then Genoa, Nance County, NE. Mary Jane FAIRWEATHER was born in Dundee, Scotland. She survived a shipwreck off the Cape of Gran Bretan, in 1842. She later married Elbridge Foster of Scugog Island, Ontario, Canada. Elbridge FOSTER and Mary Jane emigrated to Nance County, Nebraska about 1885, to homestead with ten of their eleven children. There were a set of triplets, a set of twins, andsix single births. David MILNE came over from West Camby, Fordoun County, Scotland, in about 1840.He found his wife, Mary Elizabeth TURNER in Dominion, Canada.Mary Elizabeth and David William MILNE were born in Canada. The Milne's are a pioneer family to Osborne County, Kansas, where they were granted a homestead by Rutherford B. Hayes in Tilden Twp. David William MILNE, born 8 October 1846, near Princeton, Ontario, Canada, married Alice Cordilia WHITAKER. My earliest Whitaker family is 1650 in Roheboth, Bristol County, Massachusetts. The Whitaker family is very large. Some of my direct line fought in the Revolutionary War, and the War of 1812. The CARVAJAL Family comes out of Portugal.Recently until 1800, this family of CARVAJALs comes out of Santiago, Veracruz, MEXICO.Then there is this very interesting 200+ year gap to when the first CARVAJAL was sent by Spain to be the Governor of Tampico,in 1560.I would call that a challenge.
