I have an unhappy task tonight to inform those family members on my
mailing list of the passing away of my father Orne Ross Carruthers,
tonight, at 10:55 pm, Wednesday the 17th of August 1999, in the rest home
in Virden Manitoba. My sister, Lorena, and I will be heading out to assist
Mom through this difficult time. Dad has suffered for years with
Parkinson's and died of complications due to pneumonia this evening.
Orne was born in Virden Manitoba November 20, 1924 the son of Walter Fred
Carruthers and Lorena (Dade) Brimacombe of Hargrave Manitoba, he was in
his 74th year. He leaves his wife Mary still living in Virden, son Glen
(myself) in Hamilton Ontario, daughter Lorena Carruthers Collins in
Earlville New York, and son Lyle in Calgary Alberta. He leaves also 7
Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.

Dad, we will miss you, but tonight you are free of that crippling ailment,
and the family knows also tonight, that you are in a better place. It hurt
us all to see you suffer, but your suffering ended tonight, you are free
again. Our love goes with you Dad.........Glen and family
