|I am looking for the following surnames; Carr,Widney, McCloud, Wynn, Miller, Hamilton and McQuiston. The areas of interest are; Pa.,Oh.,IL.,Ia.,Ks.,Or. I have traced these Carrs from Allegany County Pa(only because of info from Joseph Craig Carrs' obit)I still need to verify information in Pa.
Joseph Carr Sr moved his family to Bellevue Ia in 1852,his son Joseph Jr moved to Jones County sometime during the 1860's, he then moved to Butler County Kansas in 1870. His daughter Jane
(Jenny) married Alphius Lamont Hamilton that same year. They lived in El Dorado Kansas.
Joseph Craig Carr, (Joseph Jr's son) moved to Morris Illinois in 1856 to work in the MCquiston foundry. He later went on to be the President of the Grundy County National Bank. He also was in the civil war attaining the rank of Adujant of his company, the 31st Iowa. He married Rebecca Jane Wynn and they had three children; Frank,Edwin and Hattie all were born and raised in Morris Illinois.
Another son was Josiah R. Carr. He also was in the civil war and was injured. In 1920 he was in the Home for disabled volunteers in Milwaukee WI.(Need info on Josiah)
Another son was William H. Carr. I only know his year of birth.
Another son was Samuel M. Carr. He died in the civil War and left a widow (Nancy) two children(Eugene E. and Margaret) Nancy then Married John McKeen of Anamosa IA. Eugene married and moved to El Dorado Kansas in 1880.
Another son Alfred moved to Kansas with his father.(Need more info)He lived with his parents until 1890 and either moved or died, as I have not found him in Augusta Kansas in 1900 census.
A daughter Ann E.Carr married a Miller and was living in Salem Oregon.(Need more info)
Another daughter Sarah married Cyrus Malone and were living in Bellevue in 1860. apparentky Cyrus either died or they were divorced as I have found Sarah referred to in her fathers will as Sarah Bacon.
