(ROANOKE) Funeral services for Jessie Herman Andrews, 68, of Roanoke were Sunday, May 30, 1999, at 2 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel, with the Revs. Sonny Kent and Bill Calhoun officiating. Burial was in Randolph Memory Gardens. Mr. Andrews died Thursday, May 27, at his home after an extended illness. A former resident of LaGrange, Ga., Mr. Andrews was a Troup County native, born March 30, 1931, son of Robert and Annie Norred Andrews. He was a Korean War army veteran, a former employee of Coca-Cola, a member of the Elm City Masonic Lodge and had attended Standing Rock Assembly of God. Survivors include his wife, Doris Carr Andrews of Roanoke; one daughter, Gail Andrews Costley of LaGrange; two sons, Joe Andrews of Duluth, Ga., and Arnold Andrews of LaGrange; one step-daughter, Susie Moon of Woodland; one step-son, Ed Mitchum of Woodland; two sisters, Emily Johnson of Greenville, S.C., and Katherine Dillard of Mobile; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jared Costley, Luke Moon, Bobby Andrews, Robert Yates, Sheldon Hursey and John Gay. Russell Dutton served as honorary pallbearer. Arrangements were by Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke.
