CARPENTER MEMORIAL

BOOK- GENEALOGY: Amos B. Carpenter, A GENEALOGICAL HISTORY OF THE REHOBOTH BRANCH
 OF THE CARPENTER FAMILY IN AMERICA.  Also known as the CARPENTER MEMORIAL. 
Published 1898 By: Press of Carpenter & Morehouse, Amherst, MA.  
About 900 pages. Carpenter name index and related family name index. Place index 
also, but limited.  Twenty pages of corrections in the back of the book which 
are often overlooked.

This work contains some English ancestry back to about 1303 AD. While the work 
has errors in it, it is a good reference book for its time. Unfortunately, 
source data is extremely sparse.  Many corrections have been made in various 
Carpenter journals.  See Carpenter Collections, Carpenter Chronicles, and 
Carpenter & Related Family Historical Journal. 

There is an appendix on the "alleged" Carpenter estate in England. Amos B. 
Carpenter indicates that no moneys exist for the "rightful" Carpenter heirs.
