She married ALBERT AUGUSTUS CARPENTER 08 Oct 1865 in Stephentown, Rensselaer County, NY, son of WM. CARPENTER and ANN MARTIN. He was born 20 Apr 1843 in Scotland, Windham County, CT, and died 13 Jul 1914 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, OK.

ARY DELIA HUNTINGTON:
Since there were no markers on "Della Carpenters' plot" (My GG Grandmother) nor her daughters' plot, Maud Carpenter (who had died at the age of 7), I , Kenneth Gene Carpenter, took 2 Markers which I made out of Silicon Carbide, and then polished. I then flew to Chicago and drove from Chicago to Oakland Cemetery, Lyons, Clinton County, IA, on September 30, 1999, to make arrangements to have the 2 graves marked.

1860 NY Federal Census has Albert working in a paper mill at age 16 in the Township of Nassau, Rensselaer County, NY. Nearest PO is Schodack Center. In that area, he met Mary D. Huntington as her family is from Stephentown, NY about 30 miles east of Nassau , NY.
9/19/1861-9/20/1864 Civil War Veteran enlisted in Company "G" 3rd Infantry Volunteers from NYS. as Drummer. *Musician". National Archives in Washington DC.
1865 - Oct 5, Albert and Mary Married in NY, I do not have the Township or county names as yet.
9/1/1866 - Alberts' son George A. is born. Georges death Certificate reads b. 9/1/1868, Civil war records of Albert A. indicate that George was b 9/1/1866 at Malden Bridge, Columbia County, NY.
6/27/1870 - Anna L (daughter of Albert Augustus) is born in Pittstown Corners, Rensselaer County, NY.
1/26/1875 - Alberts' son Egbert is born in Niles, Cook County, IL some of Mary D. Huntingtons' uncle, John Babcock Huntington and his children, Mary D. (Huntington) Carpenter cousins, seem to be there.
1880 - Lyons, IA Federal Census shows Albert with wife Mary, children: George (13), Anna (10) and Egbert (5 yrs old) in Lyons City, (now City of Clinton) in Clinton County, IA.
1884 - Albert's son Wilfred L. is born 6/1/1884 in Iowa (1900 Census) A Wilfred Carpenter (no Middle initial) is listed as born 7/25/1884 to Albert Augustus Carpenter and Mary D. Huntington on the docket in Lyons, IA. Which further verifies 1880 census as parents of George A. Carpenter. connecting the Brother of George as Wilfred in the 1900 Elkhart, IN Fed. Census.
1892 - Sept. 13- Mary D. (Huntington) Carpenter divorces Albert Augustus Carpenter in Lyons, Clinton, IA. Divorce papers on file there. I have a copy of them.
1892- Oct. 22- Albert Augustus Carpenter marries (2nd wife) Eliza Irene Cook, (whose parents are from PA), moves to Elkhart, IN with her as he is in the 1905 up to the 1906 City directories as a cigar salesman for Hogan Cigar Co Alberts' marriage certificate states he is born in Scotland, Windham County, CT and his fathers name is Wm. E. Carpenter and his mothers name is Ann B. Martin.
1900- Federal Census finds Albert A. Carpenter and Eliza living in Constantine, St. Joseph County, MI about 30 mile north of Elkhart, IN.
1898- Nov. 17 Mary D. (Huntington) Carpenter expires-- Huntington Genealogy Memoirs. Place of death Slidell, St. Tammany Parish, LA. Her body was taken to Lyons, IA and received by her son George, for the funeral. (Clinton Daily Herald, 11/21/1898)
1899-1900 Located Albert Augustus Carpenter Elkhart City Directory, Elkhart County, IN in 1899-1906 with his 2nd wife Eliza Irene McBride. maiden name Cook. her 2nd marriage.
1900 - Albert's son George is in Elkhart, IN (1900 Census) with his family of Matie, Howard, Willie, and his Brother Wilfred L., who would have been 16 yrs old. Georges mother had died 11/17/1898.
1900-7/13/1914 date of Albert Augustus Carpenter in Oklahoma City, OK living with 2nd wife Eliza Irene Cook. \
1906- Georges family first appears in City directory of Appleton, W, but with no Albert, his father. In same household, Georges' brother Egbert and Egberts' wife (Olive (Smith)) are living at the same address of 733 Law St.
1910 - Albert's son George is in Appleton, WI with his family (Georges' obituary says he lived in Appleton, WI for past 40 yrs (actually more like 45 yrs) if he moved there in 1906 and George A. died in 7/26/1950. He was in Appleton, WI on 12/30/1915 when his son Willie E. died.
1920 Anna Gale Huntington, (works for Elkhart Truth Newspaper), Mary Delila Huntingtons' Niece, Daughter of George Ezekiel Huntington of Elkhart, IN., is Bridesmaid to Grandchild of Albert A. (Matie J. weds 1920)

1860 NY Federal Census has Albert working in a paper mill at age 16 in the Township of Nassau, Rensselaer County, NY. Nearest PO is Schodack Center. In that area, he met Mary D. Huntington as her family is from Stephentown, NY about 30 miles east of Nassau , NY.

While they were from Stephentown originally, in 1860 the family of George W Huntington was in Nassau as well. See page 119 of the census (Albert was on page 118). George W is a farmer, the oldest daughter - Margaret A, age 19, was a paper maker. So, in addition to being near neighbors, Albert probably worked with Mary's sister. . In 1870 Geo. W's family was in Sand Lake, Rensselaer, NY and in 1880 Lyons, IA
.
