Charles Rufus Hanks is my Great Granduncle and is the original Author of the Hanks Genealogy book. Had it not been for his Research, (1932 paper) and questions he had asked his Grandfather, Eli Fisk Hanks, when he was young, the tie to Rufus Fisk Hanks, his Great Grandfather, no one in this book would know that they are related to the First Benjamn Hanks, Sr., one the first settlers in Plymouth, Ma in 1699, from England and of course Abe Lincoln.
