While in Niagara Falls, Niagara, NY, Phyllis, his daughter, relays this story about Howard Frank Carpenter, After returning home from the service, he got two bonus checks with the first one he bought a car in photograph and with the second check he got about $600. Howard bought Phyllis Ann a new bike, Patricia got roller skates Richard Gene and William Lee got second hand bikes and Fritz Jr. got a red wagon. As my aunt Phyllis related this story she said humorously 'that all the kids in the family got traveling companions They lived on Cayuga Drive in Niagara Falls, NY at the time.
