Descendants of Robert Joplin

      15. Elihu3 Joplin (Mark2, Robert1) was born Abt. 1786, and died March 29, 1842 in Wilson, CO, Tenn. He married Sally Horn June 21, 1805 in Wake County, N.C. She died 1870 in Wilson Co, Tenn.

Notes for Elihu Joplin:
Elihu is a 3 - syllable boy's name of Hebrew origin, means; The Lord is God.

Elihu Joplin - b.abt 1786 was in Wilson County, Tennessee census in 1840 with his wife, Sarah Horn Joplin and five childern, 2 sons and 3 daughters. Sarah was born in North Carolina. Other Joplins listed in this county during that census were Marcus( Mark ) and William Joplin. By the 1850 Wilson County, Tennessee census Sarah, now age 59, is a widow and living with her is a daughter, Polly Joplin age 34, born in North Carolina. Living next door is a Robert Joplin who I assume is a son. Robert was born in Tennessee and is 25 years old. I think we must also assume that Mark Joplin was another son of Elihu as becomes administrator of Elihu's estate.Elihu died by 1842 as is evidenced in sale of his property:

Wilson Co, TN Elihu Joplin Sale. 9 April 1842 P: 322

Elihu, was in Wilson County, TN. with his brothers Mark, and Robert , 1840 After his father Mark Sr, estate was sold.

Sally Sarah Joplin died between the taking of the 1870 census and 31 October 1874 Wilson Co, T.N as her estate sale recorded on that date in Wilson Co, T.N Will BK. 18, 1871 - 1878, p. 259. \\

Notes for Sally Horn:
By the 1850 Census Wilson County, Tennessee Sarah, now 59, is a widow and living with her is one daughter, Polly Joplin, age 34, born in North Carolina, Living next door is a Robert Joplin who I assume is a son. Robert was born in Tennessee and is 25 years old. I think we must also assume that Mark Joplin was another son of Elihu & Saraj Joplin as he becames administrator of Elihu's Estate. Elihu & Sarah were the parents of Howell T. Joplin. Elihu died by 1842 as is evidenced in the sale of his property:

Dear Mary Wed 26, Mary 1999

My sister-in-law Ruth Corley has talked to me about the info you sent her on the Joplin Family. I have not seen anything yet but am sooo excited!!
That has been one of my deadends. You have no idea what wonderful thing that you have done in contacting us.Up until recently, all I have know about Frances Joplin was, that she was the second wife of George B. Byars. Last year I made contact with a lady in Cottage Grove,Tennessee that is also a descendent of my Lampkins and Byars families.

She had copies of the Lampkins Family Bible that gave info on Frances. This all I know about her, that was written in the Bible.

This information was sent to me in August 1998 by
