      500. Flavius C7 Joplin (Stanley6, Daniel Marion Maude 5, Mark Daniel4, Elihu3, Mark2, Robert1) was born August 15, 1932 in Urbana, ILL. He married Esperanza ( Hope) Flores November 3, 1934. She was born November 3, 1934.

I received your copies today, and I am very impressed with the work you have done. It incredible. I have been looking thur it, and there are some things that I can help you with.I have already sentmy little bit to you and there is quite a bit in hit that you can use.I put mine together, with mainly my direct family line. I have all of the info for my da's childern.. I can give you a lot of first hand info on my uncle Marion's familyas well as my other uncles. I am in the process of trying to find a group of newspaper articles that I have saved about my father ect. When I locate them, I will make copies for you.
Marion ( my dad's brother ), His wife was Polly. They had 7 childern. I grew up about a 1/4 mile from them, so we were very close. The two older childer were Charles and Helen. They never lived around any of us, so I don't know much about them. The other childern were John , Troy, James and Wayne. Wayne, and his wife Fay and three of their childern were murdered up by Dallas. The oldest boy was not hurt. We went up there for the Funeral. Polly, James, Ruth, John and Troy were all there too. It was very sad. Wayne and I were best buddies while we were growing up.
I will quit for now and if you need to know anything about my uncles etc..

He married (1) Margaret " Harmon " Yates, daughter of John Yates and Mary Yates. She was born January 29, 1924 in Mt. Vernon, ILL. He married (2) Violet Maxine Yates, daughter of John Yates and Mary Peeples. She was born August 29, 1926 in Mt. Vernon, ILL. He married (3) Gertha Jones June 4, 1992 in Branson, Mo. She was born June 6, 1928.

Earl Joplin is now a Retired Church of God Minister now residing in Springfield, Mo. He pastored Churchs (1) St. Charles, Mo (2) St.Louis, Mo. (3) St. Joseph, Mo. ( twice North & South Side ), Bogalusa, La., West Monroe, La., Indiana, Cantwell, Mo., Pensylvania, Cambridge, Md., Chase, Md., ) If I remember correctly I think Dad Earl L. Joplin and Grandpa ( Edward L. Joplin ) had to go to Joplin, Mo. during the Bi-centenial Celebrations back in the 70's. Either one or both might have had to give a speech, Will find out.

I received your book last week " WOW : What a Great Job! I cannot begin to tell you how much I have enjoyed reading your book. I want to thank you for using my information and printing my mother's poem.

I read some of your book to Mom and it brought tears to her eyes. She is 93 now.

I know from working on a Furlong book the amount of time you must have spent on this book. I am sending you $ 20,00. I hope this will cover the cost of printing the copy you sent me.

If you have any extra books I would like to have one. The Historical Society of So. III. have a line on the Joplin family but this would give them a coplete history of our family. I would like to give them a copy of your book.
