Notes for J
OHN CARRICO:
He was mentioned in fathers will of 1764. Probably the John Carrico who
was in the Revolutionary War, in Col. Hutchinson's Mass. Regiment (27th
Continental) and also in the Navy receiving prize money for
service on the Bon Home Richard under John Paul Jones and other
services. The identity is still somewhat confused. Ref: Maude Carrico
Russell, 1932. He swore Oath of Loyalty and Support, 1778, in Charles
Co., MD (Blue Book No. 5, Hall of Records, Annapolis, MD). He inherited
1/4 of the property called "Maidstone" at the death of his mother, under
the terms of his father's will. We know that he was
married and that he died prior to 1790, because the census of that year
of Charles Co., MD lists Monica as the widow of John Carrico. It is
probable that Monica's maiden name was Bryant, as we find that
Theresa (Bryant) Hagan willed some ship to Monica, and John Carrico was
on the bond of Catherine Bryant, widow and executrix of the estate of
John Bryant of Charles Co., MD., March 5, 1758. MD Will Book, No. 1, Pg.
6 Maryland Historical Society, Baltimore, MD. and Testamentary
Proceedings, Charles Co., MD, Hall of Records, Annapolis, MD. Also
listed in ____, Looking Up Family Tree. ibed. ibed, Will of Peter Carrico
Charles County Wills Liber AD#5, Fol. 320-1. 14 Apr 1764 Peter Carrico of
Charles County. Test John Gates & John Armstrong.

Notes for T
HOMAS IGNATIUS CARRICO:
In Washington Co., MD. (Formerly a part of Prince George's Co.) he was
listed in the first census of the U.S. 1790 as "Head of a family of 2
free white 16 years of age or over; 5 free white males under 16 years;
free white females and 6 slaves. He bought livestock in Washington Co.,
MD in 1792, 1793, 1794; bought land in 1797, 1803, was the Road
Supervisor there in 1801, and sold land in 1805. That was the last
record of him in Washington Co., MD. He then removed to Nelson Co.,
KY,. He died sometime between April, 1813 and June, 1813, as evidenced
by the facts that he signed a deed in April 1813, and an administrator's
report of the settlement of his estate was made in June, 1813. One
signature on this deed is that of Bartholomew Carrico, brother to Thomas
Ignatius, with the notation on the deed, after the signature, reading
"residing in Maryland." This signature was appended under the authority
of a power-of-attorney signed by "Barton" Carrico dated January 8, 1813
in Allegheny Co., MD,
authorizing Levi Carrico of Jefferson Co., KY to dispose of his
(Barton's) interest in the estate Thomas Ignatius Carrico. This power of
attorney is recorded in the office of the county clerk of Nelson Co., KY.
Washington Co., Md. Deeds, Book R, Pg. 46, Maryland Historical Society,
Baltimore, MD. is the reference for the disposal of property in
Washington, Co., MD. When the deed was signed on April
5, 1813 Thomas Ignatius Carrico was joined by his wife Elizabeth and
'interested heirs' in signing a deed which is recorded in the office of
the county clerk of Nelson Co., KY Deed Book 12, Pg. 499. Those
signing this deed were: Joseph and Amelia Carrico; Vincent and Mary
Carrico; Levi and Harriet Carrico; James and Elizabeth Carrico; Mary
(Carrico) and Benjamin H. Kerrick, her husband; Priscilla (Carrico)
and James Luckett, her husband; and Bartholomew (Barton) Carrico. Ref:

5. (Hall of Records, Annapolis, MD). Thomas Ignatius Carrico evidently
died intestate in Nelson Co., KY. The Will Book "C" on pages 235-237 and
242 does give the details of the sale of his effects. The estate
amounted to approximately $6000.00 of which
Elizabeth, the widow, received $1651.00 and seven other heirs received
$751.00 each. At the sale, purchases were made by Levi, Vincent, Joseph,
Basil (Bazil), James, Elizabeth and Eliza Carrico. Other
purchases included James Luckett and Benjamin H. Kerrick. Subscribed to
Oath of Loyalty and Support, 1778, in Montgomery Co., MD. Served in
