30. JOSEPH4 CARRICO (BARTHOLOMEW (BARTON)3, PETER (II)2 CARRICOE, PETER (I)1) was born Abt. 1778 in prob MD, and died June 19, 1833 in prob Nelson Co., KY. He married ELIZABETH CAMBRON October 19, 1812 in Washington Co., KY, daughter of WILLIAM CAMBRON and REBECCA MONTGOMERY.

Joseph evidently died intestate in Nelson Co., KY, as Book "E", pages
202 and 272, 1840, shows inventory and appraisement, which names
wife and children. This Joseph is believed to be an early
Catholic settler of Cartwright's Creek, Washington co, Kentucky in
1796, along with Cornelius and Nathaniel

ILFORD JAMES CARRICO:
Signed his name "Wilford" in MD and Nelson Co., KY. In Hardin Co., KY.,
he used the name "James". The will of James Carrico, probated in Hardin
Co. in 1836, names the following children: Julet A.; Theresa Ann, known
affectionately as "Aunt Tresy"; Jane; Benedict Joseph; Violet; and
Augustus. This Will does not mention Dr. George Carrico (1805-1880) who
practiced medicine at Charleston, IL. The 1850 census of Hardin Co., KY
shows Jane Carrico at the age of 45 and unmarried, to have been living
with her mother, Elinor (Moore) Carrico, age 74. Records of the
Congregations of the Upper and Lower Zachiah Mattawoman. (Maryland
Historical Society, Baltimore, MD) Will Book "V", page 243, Records of
Hardin Co., KY.

  Notes for BENEDICT JOSEPH CARRICO:
Benedict & Eleanor had 1 more girl, name not known. He held several
county offices in Hardin and Meade Counties, including that of sheriff.
Tombstone inscriptions, St. Patricks Cemetery, on Fort Knox
Military Reservation, Hardin Co., KY. Stones show that Benedict and
Eleanor (Burcham) Carrico were buried side by side, and the
inscriptions gave birth and death dates.


  Notes for ELEANOR WOOLDRIDGE BURCHAM:
Marriage Book "B", entry 566, shows Eleanor Burcham married Isaac
Wooldridge, February 21, 1839. Consent to marriage was by Mary
Burcham, mother. Eleanor (Burchm, Wooldridge) Carrico was the
daughter of Henry B. and Mary (Hays) Burcham, who were married, March
6, 1816 (Book "A", page 53). Henry B. Burcham was born in 1795, in PA
and died in Hardin Co., KY, 1835. He was the son of David Burcham,
Sr., and his wife Rebecca. David Burcham, Sr., served in the
Revolutionary War from PA. Mary Hays was the daughter of William and
Mary (Slack) Hays, of Washington and Hardin Co., KY. All references
are from Hardin Co., KY Records.

  Notes for THERESA ANN CARRICO:
A Theresea Carrico married a George Carrico on 09-APR-1835 in Hardin
Co., KY. She was the daughter of Eleanor Carrico. This is the Aunt
"Tresy" who gave Robert Bruce Carrico much of his material relative to
the Carrico Family. Correspondence with Sister Ramona, Librarian,
Sisters of Charity, Nazareth, KY.
