Welcome to my home page!

I am researching my family tree and have put up my family lines for you to browse through. Please contact me if you should see someone you recognize or if you know of any errors. I have been researching for about eight years now and appreciate all the information that has been shared with me by new found family and friends!

My parents were the late Raymond Muncey and Betty Jo Dillender Muncey. They married in Tampa Florida where my brothers and I were born. We moved us to Otto, NC in 1974. My father died of mesothelioma in 1995 and my mother died in 2003 as a result of injuries from a car accident near her home. I sure do miss them!

My mother's father, James Newton Dillender's family was from Kentucky and all their descendents and similar names that may be remotely related. So far I have a file of 10,000 people who are related or have a similar name that I am trying to link. I am looking for Dillender, Dillinder and Dillanders primarily with a few Dillinger, Dillenger and Dilliners.

James was a coal miner and worked mines in Kentucky and died in Evansville, Indiana in 1945 when my mother was a small child. My grandmother was Nola Elizabeth Parris born in Kentucky and raised in Illinois. She and her husband were first cousins through the Parris line. Their Parris line goes back to the Salem Massachusetts Parris's.

My grandmother lived in Evansville Indiana for many years and supported her five children working as a housekeeper. She eventually re-married to W.J. Folz an attourney in Evansville, IN. When he retired in the mid 1950's they moved to Tampa Fl.

Her father and my great grandfather was Robert Huston Parris. He was born in Kentucky and mined most of his life. Uneducated he self taught himself math so he could become a mine inspector. He inspected mines in Kentucky, Illinois and Colorado.

My great grandmothers mother was Augusta Carroll and boy do I need help on this line! Her father was Josiah Carroll born in 1829 in Pennsylvania. I never have found his exact death date or burial location.

Her mother and my great great grand mother was Betty Shanks who was born in Kentucky and previously married. They married about 1880 and they lived in Mound City, Pulaski County, Illinois until they died there prior to 1910. My mother Betty Jo was named for this couple.

Betty Shanks Carroll ran a boarding house in Mound City while her husband was a police officer monitoring the rough and rowdy crowd who worked on the river boats that ran on the river by their home.

In addition, they had a daughter Almira. Almira Carroll married Thomas Parris, brother to Robert Huston Parris. These two brothers were attracted to Mound City by the gambling and such taking place along this same stretch of river.

Seems like this intermarry repetition would make my research easier but it really just confuses things! I have never been able to find Almira's exact death date or burial either.

My father parents were Warren Fisher Muncey and Rachel Wright Muncey. My father and many of his sibs was born in Cape May New Jersey. Cape May was next to heaven to hear my father tell it.

His family moved to Tampa FL in the early 1950's after his youngest brother, John, was blinded and had to go to school at the Florida School for the Blind.

My grandfather Warren Muncey's parents were James Pennal Muncey and Carrie Boyton. James' ancestry goes back to the early 1800's with my earliest patriarch being Robert Munce. Robert links in to the Lenappe Indian tribe in the Kent CO Delaware. His wife was Jemima Cork and her family was also in the Lenappe Indian tribe. I have not been able to find the parents for either of these persons.
