Nancy E. Cardwell was born about 1840 in Grainger County, Tennessee. She married John Booker on March 16, 1867 in Union County, Tennessee. John Booker was born on October 19, 1822 in Grainger County, Tennessee. He was the son of George W. Booker and Sarah Bond. George W. Booker migrated to Grainger County, Tennessee from Amelia County, Virginia. John Booker was married to Mary Jane Baker in Grainger County, Tennessee in 1850. They had six children before Mary Jane died in about 1861 in Union County, Tennessee. John Booker remarried to Nancy E. Cardwell on March 16, 1867 in Union County, Tennessee. It would appear that Nancy E. Cardwell may have died, possible during childbirth, and John Booker remarried to Susannah Carden on June 13, 1868 in Maynardville, Union County, Tennessee. Booker family researchers state that Nancy E. Cardwell died in September 1867. According to Annette Andersen, a descendant of John Booker, Nancy Cardwell did not have any children by John Booker. __________________________________________________________________________________
