| The Castle Family research, with Surname derivatives Kassel, Cassel, Cassell, Castle, and others, has been one of great challenge due to ancestors coming from Germany to Pennsylvania to Virginia and beyond. Our lineage includes American Indians which also complicates the research. The challenge of finding data to support the research has been exhausting yet rewarding. Religion and religious persecution led to the first ancestors coming from Germany to Philadlephia, PA, and many ministers have surfaced in the research of the Castle line. Likewise, daring frontiersmen, skilled tradesmen, civil servants, and common hardworking folk forged their foothold into America..........and the line goes on. From Yelles Kassel, ca 1590 of Kreigshem, Germany, came a family of religiously persecuted yet adventuristic individuals seeking freedom of worship to a new world to unite with German, Dutch, American Indian and English individuals and firmly plant a family tree which continues to grow in America. Included surnames are Kilgore, Robinson, Townes, Ciphers, Kuster, La Fontain, Liddle, Maness, Minor, Madden, Goins, Bledsoe, Salyer, Michener, Nickels, Osborne, Stapleton, Price, Preston, Roberts, Shoemaker, Cadawaller, Kolb, and Willis, to name a few. I am always open to discussion relative to surnames, exchange of data, and growing the Castle tree. SITE ALWAYS UNDER CONSTRUCTION..................... |
