GWC Gray-William's-Casey Reunion Newletter

Updated November 18, 2000

About Our Family Research

Gray-Williams- Casey Family Reunion Newsletter
Keeping In Touch An Invitation to all.

In generations long past, most family members lived within only a few miles or even a few blocks of each other. They were able (or perhaps forced) to interact with all of their extended family daily. Today, that is not the norm for today there are hundreds of miles between relatives and months between telephone calls and letters. Staying united, as a family is not easy. I have been challenge with the responsibility of setting up for our family next Reunion (get-together) August 10-13 of 2001.

In addition to our newsletter, I will try to create a family home page Web-site where we can post family pictures and information to help create a Family Directory, called Our Roots. (Dec. 2000) It will be broken into four sections. The first section Roots, for those individuals who are no longer with us. The Trunk for all first, second generation information. Branches will be all third and fourth generation information and the Leafs for the continuation of family heritage for the GWC. Feel free to post information on the web site. Please include names with pictures, accomplishments, birthdays, anniversary's, graduation, awards, trophies, new clipping.

Show Me the Money The GWC Family Reunion Fund

Time to start figuring out how you are going to pay for that big shindig you have planned for next summer. Charging dues is one common way to fund family reunions. I need to figure out a head count based on the cost per person (or family). This is the expected plan for 2001:

1. I would like to collect $10.00 (yearly) per household. This will be our yearly dues and to get the ball rolling. Starting in (January 2001).

2. I would like to receive contribution of $25.00 per household for Re-Union Picnic (Money due in May). That's about $35.00 per household a year.

3. Each family (two adult and 2 children) will be asked to pay $50.00, each single adult to pay $25.00 and $12.50 for each additional child to defray some cost. The Friday night family dinner to be held at a respected local establishment. Please forward ½ down payment. This will indicate participation and help with head count. (Down payment due by June 30, 2000).

Every Newsletter/Web site will document our family progress.

Millennium Updates Next Generation

I am challenging us all; especially the Next Generations to open all door and embrace our family's heritage. To give our children the opportunity to met their aunts, uncles and cousins. With your help, I will keep my promise to inform and keep us all update with every family's doings. I am excited about the possibility of all being in one place together. In order for the celebration to be a real family reunion, we need you to be there to "re-unite" with us. Let us continue to remain excited and encourage everyone to attend this historic event. Please make plans to attend. Let us make this an event we will all cherish.

Our Reunion theme this year is "We are the Children" the offspring of Harry J. Gray Sr. and Wilma J. Long.

If you have any questions, comments or helpful suggestion, they are welcomed. Please include immediate brief family bios to the address below.
Thanks and much love Buddy
