1. JOHN² COOPER (JOHN¹) was born 1618 in England, and died Aug 23, 1691 in Cambridge, Middlesex County, MA. He married ANNE SPARHAWK in Cambridge, Middlesex County, MA, daughter of NATHANIEL SPARHAWK and MARY ANGIER. She was born Jun 01, 1623 in Dedham, Essex, England, and died Aft. 1712 in Cambridge, Middlesex County, MA.

Notes for JOHN COOPER:
Deacon John Cooper was the ancestor of all the Coopers in Croydon, NH. His father died comparatively young. His mother, widow Lydia Cooper, married a second time to Deacon Gregory Stone, who emigrated to Cambridge, MA before May 1636, accompanied by his step-son John Cooper and his step-daughter, Lydia Cooper, his wife and his own children of that marriage (John, Daniel, David, Samuel, Elizabeth and Sarah Stone). Lydia Cooper, sister of John Cooper, married Lieutenant David Fisk, Cambridge, MA and had one son and two daughters and died before 1655. John Cooper married Anna Sparhawk, daughter of Deacon Nathaniel Sparhawk of Cambridge. John Cooper became a very prominent citizen of Cambridge, MA where he was selectman 38 years (1646 to 1688) and town clerk 13 years from 1669 to 1682. He was deacon fo the church from 1688 to his death August 22, 1691. His widow married James Converse of Woburn, MA and was living in 1712.
