| I am Debbie Castillo and am researching the Whetstine family tree. They say the original spelling of the surname was Wettzstein and it all started with Peter who sailed with his family in 1732 on the "Samuel" to America. Further reading indicates that many Germans emmigrated to escape religious persecution and it was known as the "Palatinate Migration". My recent Whetstine roots hail from Wellman, Iowa.
