My ancestors came to North Carolina from the colonies of Maryland, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and their descendants spread out across the United States. I have been collection information for many years, and through this site, I hope I can help others in their quest for their ancestral roots. D. B. Harding and Laura Bowman Harding. Sgt. Samuel Speer Harding (47 KB) Sgt. Samuel Speer Harding, Co. I, 28th North Carolina Regiment, born Sept. 16, 1838, killed at the Battle of Reams Station, Virginia, Aug. 25, 1864. He was the son of William and Jane Speer Harding of Yadkin County, North Carolina
