I am attempting to obtain any information of the family of Peter Castner who was born in New Jersey, September 1, 1781 and died July 16,1851 in Cincinnati, Ohio. His wife was Mary Scobey also born in New Jersey and died in Cincinnati. They had six known children Alexander, Jacob, William Henry, Ellen Bryant married first to Nathaniel Gest, 2nd Samuel Cleland, Sarah married first to John M Cox, second to Henry W Wright and Mary, who married a Steven Bonnell. All the children were married in Cincinnati area. All moved to the Carthage area of Cincinnati around 1820. Most of Alexander's family remained in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. When Alexander died around 1851 his wife Sarah Felter remarried a Thomas Auten in Cincinnati. Jacob along with his wife Amanda left for Iowa around 1860. William along with his wife and children moved to the Boyleston, Illinois area around the same time. The daughter, Mary (Castner) Bonnell moved from the Cincinnati area between 1850 and 1860. Ellen lived in the Rock Island, Illinois area while Sarah lived in Cincinnati area. Between myself and a cousin Steve Castner Kingsbury we have come up with quite a lot of information, however we are stuck at Peter's parents. I believe he was born in the area of Morris County, New Jersey. Other family names I am researching: Thomas Hughes and decendents from New Jersey and Ohio. Frederick Gottlieb Schutte and decendents from Germany and Ohio. Christian George Miller and decendents from Philadelphia, Pa. James Wilson and decendants from Ireland, Delaware and Ohio. Thomas J Drake and decendants from Warren County, Ohio. Murdock Otis McKenzie and decendants from Scotland, Virgiia, Kentucky. James Henderson and decendants from Kentucky, Brown and Warren county, Ohio. Frank Taylor and decendents from Philadelphia. I am also researching daughters family names: Geraldo Sora and Decendants from Italy and Ohio. Hambrey Banks and decendants from North Carolina. Thomas Farmer and decendents drom North Carolina. Jacob Fry(e) and decendants from Virginia and Ohio. |
