My Family information spans from Decatur, Illnois to Choctaw County, Oklahoma and borders of Lamar County, Texas. The Lake Family migrated from Illinois to White County,Arkansas And Fulton County, Where they owned land and had their children.
Then to Bristow,Oklahoma and on to Eugene,Oregon.
The Wood Family starts with 4 Brothers Thomas, John, WIlliam and George Wood...starts in Mississippi, then to Arkansas and Texas and Oklahoma. Two Wood Brothers married Gorrell Sisters.
George W. Wood married Lucy Lela Gorrell, Thomas Price Wood married Georgia M. Gorrell. John W. Gorrell and Kathleen Haynes were there parents. John W. Gorrell Jr. Died in Merced, California.
The Wood decendants still live in the Hugo, Choctaw, Oklahoma area. Thomas Wood and Georgia Gorrell and George W. Wood and Lucy Lela Gorrell left many generations behind.
George Roy Wood and Lottie Jane Lake had 12 children.
Julia Wood and Harmon Bohannon's decendants thru Lilly Arizona Bohannon also left 12 in their familys.
Both families have a Choice and Loftis in their lines named after a Doctor and a Lawyer in Choctaw County.
Thomas Wood's decendants are located today close to his burial site in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He leaves many who resemble he and his Mother Nannie A. Wood Day.

Most of our family is buried in Shoals Cemetary in and around Hugo, Oklahoma. The cemetary is over 100 years old also is on line at the Choctaw County Website.
