James Edmund Cochran 1894-1987
James Edmund Cochran (pictured on the right), son of John COCHRAN & Nancy Elizabeth STANFORD. He served in WWI, in Co. D, 5th Reg of Engineers, first as private, then corporal, then sergeant. He saw battle in France. He is listed in "A War History of Company D 5th Regiment of Engineers" published April 1st, 1919 at Camp A. A. Humphreys, PA. During the war, he was gassed in France with something that impaired his lungs from then on. While in the Army (south Texas), he was a part of a US expedition into Mexico chasing Pancho Villa. Can anyone tell me who the friend (on the left) might be? More on the COCHRAN family can be found in the genealogy report for John COCHRAN below.
