This is a side view of the old Cochran homestead in New Boston, NH. It was struck by lightening and burned about 1920. It was occupied continuously by Cochrans, John Cochran, being the last. He built a new house on the old site - it was still standing in 1936. In this old house was held the first town meeting of that section of Hillsborough county. The house had an immense kitchen with a great fireplace and built-in oven.
