according to my family history; John Darling and his brother (Scotch Quakers)left Scotland to N.Ireland to escape religious persecution.in the 1600's. Said to be sons of a Mayor of Glasgow, Came to America in their own ship "The Lyon's Welp"in 1635. I would like to know when and where arrived. They appear on a tax list in 1731. Had settled in Nantucket,then moved to Long Island,N.Y. any info is appreciated.Robert b.1610 and Mary b.1609 Hawkins came to this country from England in 1635. settled in Charlestown,Mass. I would like to know what ship? and any info about them before they arrived?.Eliphaletb.1795 or97 Zaphaniah b.1799 Smith brothers descended from Arthur Smith d.1673 line of Quakers. said to have come to Southold,L.I.,N.Y. before 1659 and settled in Setauket,L.I.N.Y. in Oct. 1659.
