Greetings and Welcome to The Cascella Family Tree.
The family tree presented here documents over six hundred members who are direct descendants of Modesto and Romana Cascella and their spouses. This branch of the Cascella family (pronounced CAS-CHELLA) originated in Mola di Bari, Italy. Although our roots go back further, I chose the early 1800's as a starting point.
We are made up of business people, farmers, and artists - doctors, nurses, lawyers, and boat builders - educators, accountants, home makers, firefighters, and craftsmen. The Cascella's have lived on four different continents, served in both World Wars, and can boast of war heroes on both the Allied and Axis side!
This record of our family tree has developed, in large part, because the efforts of Regina Monno Clemente and her husband George. We all owe them a heartfelt thank you for their tireless efforts in gathering and verifying the information presented here. Whenever possible, interviews were conducted with the direct descendants of my great grandfather, Modesto.
Please feel free to contact me by email with any questions, additions, or corrections. Make sure to include an address that I can respond to. If you leave a phone number I will call you. A great family has many stories to share. Please feel free to write any stories you'd like to add to your branch. Thanks for visiting.
I hope that this family tree helps all of you to understand the magnitude of our family history, and will inspire the younger members of our family to do their branches proud.
UPDATE - 2008 Announcing the birth of Quinn Joseph Odell. He is the son of Kristpher & Stephanie Odell. Also born this year is Steve Berce Odell - son of Bryan & Allison - both are grandsons of Regina Cascella Odell, great grandsons of Joseph Cascella, and great-great grandsons of Giovanni Cascella. An addition to the family tree is always a blessing!
Speaking of additions- Katherine Ann Vaccarelli, daughter of Giancarlo and Anna, and great-great grandson of Modesto Cascella was married in August, 2007. On a sad note, we should remember the passing of Anna (Nina) Macchitelli, daughter of Romana Cascella and Giuseppe Macchitelli. She passed at the age of 89. Her laughter and easy going way will be missed by all.
Take time to love your family. They are your history and your legacy. Don't waste either. Thanks for stopping by!
