I am researching for any descendants of Henry Gruhler, born in Altoona, Pa in 1875. Died in 1934 at age 59. He studied at the Conservatory of Music in Leipzig, Germany. He composed music for the famous Madame Schumann-Heink and accompanied her at the piano. When returned to the states he met a young mezzo-soprano who had sung solo at age 9 at the dedication of the Wanamaker organ. They married in 1898 and the two continued in thier musical careers. They had five children, Henry(Whitey)1901, Jean(Dr) 1908, Lynette 1911, Bob 1912, and Dick in 1913. All of which resided in the Ventnor/Atlantic City,NJ area for most of their lives.
