| I am searching for the surnames of Cassella, Kelm, Hart, Nyswongers and any others that I may be related to. The Cassella name goes all the way back to 1844 where John Cassella was born in Calabria, Italy. He had a son named John Cassella, Jr. He migrated to the United States in 1988 by boat which at this time was a very tiedious way to travel. He and his family landed at New York and proceeded across the whole of the United States arriving many days later at Corcorcan, California. They then changed trains and came directly to Visalia. Unlike his father before him, he became a skilled carpenter and cabinet maker. Before coming to the United states he married Feleminno DeLooka and they razed 6 children all born in Calbria, Italy. He later sent for the remainder of the family to come to the States after he had established himself. They arrived by boat in 1902 landing at New York and then coming across country by train to Visalia. 4 of his children's names are Antonio, John, Amelia and Philomena. Antonio (Tony) is my Great Grandpa. He had two children named Florence and John. John had three children Randy, Bobbie, and John. Randy is my father and he has two children Myself (sherri) and my brother Jeff. I am willing to share and find out any information on my relatives. |
