Tony J. Castino Family Tree in Texas

I am researching the Castino family tree. I am missing some vital information. One is my grandfather's, Antonio Castagna, who was born in Alimeno (Palmero) Sicily. I am having difficulty finding his birthdate. He came to Ellis Island with his wife and son (my dad, Joseph Castino) and I am told he became ill in New York and was left in a New York hospital. Anyone who can give us suggestions or leads is welcome.
