| This labor of love was brought about by a very dear friend, and playmate in our youth, Andrew J. Crawford. It was his mothers wish, so during the years he was in the military, he began a genealogy search not only of his ancestors but that of allied families of the Crawford Family. While Andrew worked with computers the size of large buildings, he had to get his information the hard way. No personal computers in those days. Joe Clayton Castle, my Uncle, triggered my interest by asking me, if I knew who my Great Grandfather was. I responded with, I haven't a clue. With a questionable name and some hearsay information, I launched myself into the world of genealogy. I have never regretted a day I have spent in searching.
