Notes for Jonathan Frazier:
Jonathan Frazier is listed in the 1820 Floyd County, KY, census. In 1821, Perry County was formed from parts of Floyd and Clay Counties. Jonathan is listed in the 1830 and 1840 Perry County, KY, censuses (he was listed as "Fraysuir" in the 1830 census). He is listed in the Perry County tax lists from 1822 to 1842 and then appears on the Letcher County tax lists beginning in 1843. Letcher County was formed from parts of Perry and Harlan Counties in 1842. More than likely Jonathan lived in the same location all of this time, but was effected by the county border changes in 1821 and then again in 1842. The 1824 Perry County, KY, tax list shows Jonathan on the Kingdom Come water course. Jonathan is listed in the Letcher County tax lists from 1843 to at least 1848, again on the Kingdom Come water course.
It is suspected that Jonathan died prior to 1850 since he does not appear in the 1850 Letcher County census. There is a 68 year-old Elizabeth Frazier living alone in District 2, household #76. There are several Banks families listed nearby that may be some relation to her. Daughter, Mary Frazier, is living next door in household #77 with her husband Samuel Banks. Jonathan's brother, Squire, is living in household #78.

Elizabeth is listed in the 1850 Letcher County, KY, Census by herself in household #76. She was listed as being 68 years old and born in NC. She was listed in the 1860 Letcher County, KY, Census as "Betsy Frazier" in the household of her son, Solomon Frazier (#389). She was listed as being 80 years old and born in NC. Elizabeth was listed in the 1870 Letcher County, KY, Census, again in the household of her son, Solomon Frazier. This time she was listed as being 82 years old and born in NC.
