It is only suspected that Daniel is the son of Jonathan Frazier; it has not been proven, yet. There is an LDS Ancestral File that shows Daniel's parents were Jonathan and Elizabeth "Betsy" (Banks) Frazier. The submitter was listed as Orville Austin Holley, Rt. 1 Box 1740, Sutherlin, OR 97479 (Microfilm No. 1394364, Submission No. AF83-089103).
At about the age of 19, Daniel appears on the 1842 Perry County, KY, tax list. After the county boundry change in 1842, Daniel begins to appear on the Letcher County, KY, tax lists in 1843. Daniel is listed on the Kingdom Come water course in 1843 and 1845, on the Kentucky River water course in 1844, 1846 and 1848, and on the Cars Fork water cousre in 1847. Daniel was married in Scott County, VA, in 1842 but it is not known if he actually lived there before he was married or if he lived there for any length of time afterwards. However, Daniel and his family were listed in the 1850 Scott County, VA, census but were back in Letcher County, KY, by the 1860 census.
