Clayton R. Cox, compiler of the book "Appalachia Crossroads: The Caudill Family", had this to say about "Rev. Archie" in his book on page 1017, 1018:

"This compiler as a 6 year old was quite shocked by the death of Rev. Archie well-known to our family. About 4 p.m. my father came home early and told us of his death. Archie had been dyamitting stumps to clear his land. After setting off several successful charges he set his last one and then went home for lunch. When he returned he found this last charge had not gone off. When he picked up the dynamite to see why it had failed to explode, it went off in his hand. When I started in genealogy, one of the first items I researched for was his obituary in the Ashland Daily Independent to see how he was related. Though I found the obituary, it was sometime later before I found out the relationship." - Clayton R. Cox

MELBOURNE -- Kelly Caudill Sr., 79, a retired self-employed automotive mechanic, died Thursday, May 13 1999, at home.\\
Mr. Caudill was born in Greenup, Ky. He came to Brevard County in 1960 from Columbus, Ohio.
He was Baptist.
Survivors include his sons, John Caudill of Columbus and Kelly Caudill Jr. of Melbourne; daughter, Jean McDonald of Grove City, Ohio; brothers, Elwood Caudill of Galena, Ohio, Delbert Caudill of Columbus and Ellis Caudill of Palm Bay; sister, Bessie DeVoe of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
No calling hours are scheduled. Services will be private. East Coast Cremation in Melbourne is in charge of arrangements.
