JENKINS, Ky. - Leona Craft Wright, 93 years, 10 months and 6 days, died Tuesday (Nov. 27, 2001) at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital in Whitesburg, Ky. Mrs. Wright taught in the Letcher County School System for 24 years. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, member of the Letcher County Senior Citizens Club, and a Kentucky Colonel. She was a member of the McRoberts Old Regular Baptist Church. Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Elder James Lewis Wright; her parents, John H. Craft and Lydia Margaret Kincer Craft; two sisters, Arlena Adams and Arminta Craft; two brothers, Charlie Craft and Bill Craft. Surviving are her daughters, Jimmie Kathleen (Ray) Adkins, Kent, Ohio, Margaret Jocelyn (Ben) Adams, Quartzsite, Ariz., Polly Arlene (Joseph) Bittrich, Burdine, Ky., Glenna Theresa (Bob) Matney, Jenkins, Ky., Lura Jane (preceded in death by Jim) Bright, Jenkins, Ky., Shelia Faye (Pat) Whitaker, Pikeville, Ky.; sons, Thomas Gene (Norma) Wright, Cromona, Ky., John Andrew (Dallas) Wright, Jenkins, Ky., Jesse Wayne (Esther) Wright, Jenkins, Ky.; sisters, Arzona Kincer, Mayking, Ky.; brother, Dave L. Craft, Mayking, Ky.; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and expecting one additional great-grandchild; one great-great-grandchild; and, for their loving dedication, compassion and care, we have adopted two new members into our family, Elaine Mullins and Starlene Yeary, as mother called them, her angels. Calling hours will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today at McRoberts Old Regular Baptist Church and from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Thornton Union Church in Mayking. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Thornton Union Church with Elder Jim T. Caudill and Elder Clayton Montgomery officiating. Burial will be in Payne Gap Memorial Gardens in Payne Gap, Ky. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Baker Funeral Home, Pound, Va., is in charge of the arrangements. |

Notes for Helen L. Kincer: The following obituary is from the Journal News, Hamilton, Ohio (Monday, June 2, 2003): Helen L. Webb, age 77, of Fairfield, died on Sunday, June 01, 2003, at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield. Born on September 10, 1925, in Letcher County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Byron and Delcie (Adams) Kincer. On January 16, 1946, in Neon, Kentucky, Helen married her husband of over 49 years, Nelson E. Webb, Sr. Nelson preceded Helen in death on April 19, 1995. She loved her grandchildren, family and friends. Helen was a member of the Allison Avenue Baptist Church. She enjoyed and loved quilting and cooking. Mrs. Webb is survived by her three children, Peggy Hudson and her husband Frank Sr., and Sharon Jackson and her husband Richard, all of Fairfield, and Nelson E. Webb, Jr., of Hamilton; seven grandchildren, Frank Hudson, Jr. and his wife Jan, Jeff Hudson and his wife Debbie, Jennifer Hudson, Gregory Jackson, Nelson E. Webb, III, and his wife Christina, Kevin Webb, and Donnie Webb; twelve great grandchildren; four brothers, Ross Kincer and his wife Lois of Toledo, Fred Kincer and his wife Mickie of Columbus, Indiana, Dan Kincer and his wife Betty of Union, Ohio, and Don Kincer and his wife Marlene of Columbus, Indiana; nieces and nephews. Helen was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, James, Ben Jack, and Delbert Kincer. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Dr. Simcoe and staff of the Fairfield Medical Group and the staff at Mercy Fairfield Hospital for all their care and support and to the church family for all their care and prayers. Funeral Services will be held at Webb Noonan Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South Street, Hamilton, at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2003, with Pastor Kenneth Dugas officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
