I spent a day at an orphanage in Seoul, Korea sometime in the winter of 1954/55. The visit was great, but heart rending. I would loved to have brought some of them home with me. The one with my cap on stuck to me like a bee to honey.

This is my 4x great grandmother. All family traditions say she was full blood Indian, but we've not found proof yet. I think that proof may be getting much closer. Matilda was born September 1, 1798 in Kentucky and died July 1, 1875 in Kentucky. She's the mother of Matilda Jane Nickell Jones whose picture is posted here also.

Mom (as she put it) slipped away from us on October 27, 2002. She was diagnosed with cancer of the liver and pancreas a short 5 days before. God is merciful. She suffered very little. We miss you Mom.
