Updated September 6, 2000

I've been researching my father's side of the family tree for about six months now, but no longer being in Illinois and having access to local records, I've ran into a snag. My grandfather's name was Elmer George Cawvey and I haven't been able to get any information about him. There are several other Cawvey's listed in the records in the mid to late 1800's but so far I haven't been able to make a connection.
There are also a lot of Cawvey's in Oklahoma and I heard a rumour that someone moved back toward Illinois (late 1800'?) about this same time. There also might be an Arkansas connection (also late 1800's). Any one with information on this or any other Cawvey connection, if you can contact me I would appreciate this.
