1. WILLIAM¹ CECIL was born 1665 in Prince George Co., Md., and died 1749 in Frederick Co., Md. He married <UNNAMED>. She died Bet. 1697 - 1698.

Notes for WILLIAM CECIL:
      The first accounts of the Cecil Family in Prince George County, Maryland show the last name spelled Sesell. That may be because Cecil was pronounced that way. In a deposition made to the November Court of Prince George's County, Maryland, in 1732, William Sesell deposed that he was 67 years of age which would make his birth date around 1665. He further deposed that he had spent most of his time in this Province. William Sesell at a session of the County Court held in Prince George's County, Province of Maryland, on March 19, 1697/8, bound his three children to Mareen Duvall, as follows: "To the Commissioners of Prince George's County, these are humbly to Sattisfie you that I, William Sesell, by the request of my wife as She lay upon her death bed I have disposed of my children to Marreen Douall (sic) and his heirs till they are of age. John Sesell, age 7 years the 24th of December last past, Phip Sesell, aged 5 years the 28th day of this instant, Susan Sesell aged 2 years of January last. These are humbly to Request of your Lordship to bind these children this Court to the aforesaid Douall and his heirs to the age of 21 and the girle att 16 as witness my hand and Seale the day and years above Written." Signed, Sealed and delivered in ye presents of us, Allex Beall and Solomon X. Simpson.
      Maureen Duvall, who became the guardian of the children of William Sesell, was the son of Mareen Duvall, Sr., a French Huguenot, who settled on South River in Anne Arundel County. As Mareen Duvall, the Emigrant, had two sons name Mareen , designated as the Elder and the Younger, it is not known who became the guardian of the Sesell children, but most likely Mareen the Younger.
