He married ELIZABETH SOLLARS 1718 in Queen Anne Parish, Prince George Co., Md., daughter of JOHN SOLLARS. She was born in Calvert Co., Md., and died Unknown.

According to the register of Queen Anne's Parish, Prince George's County, Maryland, John Cecil was born in the year of our Lord 1691 and married Elizabeth Sollars in the year of our Lord 1718. His last will and testament was dated 14 July 1758 and admitted to Probate in Prince George's County, Maryland on 28 January 1759. He devised his wife Elizabeth during her widowhood the dwelling-plantation, but after her marriage or death, it was to revert to his son Zephaniah Cecil and his heirs forever. All Negroes were bequeathed to his wife Elizabeth and at her death, they were to be equally divided among all his children. The administration bond of his widow and executrix valued at 600 pounds was dated February 5, 1759, with Sabret Cecil and Samuel Cecil as sureties. The inventory of his personal estate was appraised on February 5, 1759, by Thomas Gordon and William Shaw, Jr. Thomas Cecil and James Cecil signed the papers as next of kin. They were filed at court on 4th of May the same year of our Lord by Elizabeth Cisel the executrix. Thomas Cecil and Sabret Cecil, who approved the inventory, were the brothers of Samuel the Administrator, and sons of John the Bondsman.
