My Geneology interests are tracing the Family Surnames of: Smith, Waldrop/Waldrip, Ramsey/Ramsay/Ramsy, Wallace, Bearden/Beardon, Chambers, Davis/Davies, Bruce, Stone, Fowler, Stephens, Cunningham, Tidmore/Ditmire, Williams, Maltby/Maltbie, Cantrell, and Driskill/Driscoll/Driskell. Most of the more current connections have been found in the following North Alabama counties: DeKalb, Calhoun, Cherokee, Etowah and Marshall Counties.I am also interested in Native American research. Vocal family history tells of a Cherokee heritage on my Paternal G-G-Grandmother's branch: Emiley B. Ramsey/Ramsay/Ramsy. Ramsey was her married name, but I can't find the given name of her husband, nor her maiden name (she was full-blood, b. July 12. 1950 in either Etowah County Alabama or Cherokee County, Alabama. She died May 12, 1924 and is buried in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetary, on Tabor Road, near Gadsden, Etowah County, Alabama.I've enjoyed my 1+ year of research, and I'm excited about the new information that I find/receive every day.I especially enjoy sharing and exchanging information with those who are searching for the same Family surnames.Hope to interact with other Geneological enthusiasts (it takes a gen. enthusiast to understand the drive of a gen. enthusiast, I have discovered!!?!) in tracing our roots and envisioning our future.
