Notes for Mary Lakin: SECOND GENERATION MARY LAKIN, eldest child of John and Mary (Bacon) Lakin, was born, probably In Reading, Massachusetts, about 1660, and died not later than 1688. but the exact date is not known. She married, July 18, 1674, "when 14 years and a few months old," Henry Willard. Proof that Mary Lakin, daughter of Lieut. John Lakin, married Henry Willard is found in the Copy of an old deed given by Simon Willard, dated July 16, 1674, which reads in part, "Whereas upon a contract between my son, Henry Willard, and Mary Lakin, daughter of Sergt. John Lakin, both of Groton, I thought meet to settle something upon him for his outward subsistance" (N. E. H. G. Reg., Vol. 7. p. 114.)
