Obituary: Patrick F. Wheelock, 82, of Boone died of a heart ailment Saturday at Boone County Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m Wednesday at Church of the Sacred Heart in Boone. Burial with military honors by the Veteran Council will be at the church cemetery.
Mr. Wheelock had lived most of his life in Boone County, where he had been a farmer and a carpenter. He liked to raise dogs, and he had owned and operated Valley View Kennel. He also was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are a son, John of Boone; a daughter, Cathy Connally of Odessa, Texas; a sister, Helen McNertney of Chula Vista, Calif.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. A 7 p.m. vigil service will be held. Visitation will continue from 8 a.m to 10 a.m.
Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
