Frank was born October 4, 1878 in Saline County, NE, the fourth son of Benjamin and Samantha Chapman.

January 14, 1900, Frank married Maud Violetty Carlin at Edison, NE. They had four children:

Frank then married Margaret I. Jacobsen. They lived in the sandhills of Nebraska; Chandler, AZ, and later in Aztec, NM. They remained in NM until their deaths; Frank died in 1952; Margaret on January 23, 1953.

Frank was a strong boy with a quick mind. He was always a farmer but had a roving mind. He liked to get off away from people, perhaps it was a pioneering spirit. At any rate he was not found of close neighbors.

Walter was born January 21, 1885, the sixth son of Benjamin and Samantha Chapman. He was born in Saline County, NE, five miles east of Miligan. When he was very young, his parents took him to Furnas County, NE where they started a new home north of Edison, NE.

Walter married Lydia V. Stump February 4, 1906. They had fur children:

Opal Chapman, born August 18, 1909;
Leslie Lawrence Chapman, born August 7, 1911;
Earl Edward Chapman, birthdate unknown;
Willard Walter Chapman, born November 9, 1918.

Walter was a Mechanic. At various times after 1928 he lived in Trenton & Haigler, NE and at Wray, CO, where he worked at his trade. In 1932, he moved to Hemet, CA where he made his permanent home. Though he did various types of work, his main occupation was in the upkeep of automobiles or some sort of machinery.

During WWII, he worked at the Douglas Feeder Plant at Elsinor, CA as Airplane Mechanic for thirteen months, and in the same capacity at Riverton, CA for 13 1/2 months. He contracted metal poisoning and had to leave. Later he worked both at Ferris, CA and at Camp Hahn as Mechanic and Steam Engine Fireman. His later occupations were in mechanics.
