Ovid Ave. died Sunday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center, where she had undergone cancer surgery. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sunset Funeral Chapel, and burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Williams was born in Collins and lived in Des Moines most of her life. She retired as lunchroom manager for the Des Moines Independent Community School District and was a charter member of Calvary Open Bible Church and a member of Victory Praise Center and American Business Women's Association. Among survivors are her husband, Leo; a son, Leo Jr. of Chariton; a daughter, Linda Jacobe, and a brother, Beryl Halterman, both of Des Moines; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Funeral Chapel, where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Victory Praise Center. |
