Daved was born to Frederick Obadiah and Harriet Chapman October 12, 1876. Daved was raised by his aunt Emma until she married. He then went to live with his grandparents. Daved first married Dora Lucy Miller. After her death, he remarried Hallie Dill. He died quietly in the night of June 7, 1951, and was buried in the Keota Cemetery.
