Notes for Mary Elizabeth Robbins: One time when I visited Jefferson, shortly after the end of WW II, my uncle Clark gave me two old books to take care of. He said that they were my great-grandmother Mary Robins Hays bible. The books were kept in storage until the summer of 1994. At that time Master Bookbinder John Ravenhill of the firm of Davall and Chown, 2267 Main Street, Ft. Myers. FL 33901, Tel (813)337-1221 rebound, repaired, recovered and completely deacidified both volumes of the 1857 Edition of 'The Cottage Bible and Family Expositor" that had the name MARY HAYS in gold leaf on the front cover of both volumes. In Vol, I on a blank page, between pages 336 and 337, the birth dates for Samuel Hays, Ellen Louvisa Hays and their eleven children were hand written. (in a different hand the birth of Gary Norman Hays, Ora's first son was also recorded). In the Family Record in Vol. II the marriage of Frew Hays to Mary Robins and the birth of their ten children were recorded. I used this information when I applied for membership in the SAR in 1995.
