1. WILLIAM1 THOMPSON was born 20 March 1796 in NC or SC, and died 25 March 1888 in Pickens Co., GA1. He married NANCY HENDERSON 17 May 1818 in Rutherford Co, NC2, daughter of WILLIAM HENDERSON and BETSY. She was born 1800 in North Carolina, and died 25 June 1890 in Pickens Co., GA3.

Notes for WILLIAM THOMPSON:
William Thompson served as a private in Captain John Oliver's Company of North Carolina Militia (Rutherford Co.) from Feb 20, 1815 to March 6, 1815 and was paid for 15 days.

There is an entry in "Rutherford County Land" as follows.
"No.870 William Thompson son of Elijah enters fifty acres of land situate on the waters of Whitcoak on the West side of William Hendersons old tract of land and joins on the east side of Hendersons new entry of 25 acres and on the South side of William Thompsons own entry of 26 acres including his own improvements and house. 6th Sept.1831.
