Notes for Harry Richard Chapman:
When I was about 5 years old I would go fishing with my dad. If he didn't want me to go I'd sneak after him. Once I got to the river bank he never sent me home. When I was about 6 years old I was fishing with dad and Jack Christensen. When Jack bent over the fire to add wood some 22 rifle shells fell from his pocket and exploded. One of them hit me in the left hand. Dad always told me not to be a cry baby. I managed not to cry until dad saw the blood on my had when I was washing it in the river. Then I couldn't help but cry very loudly. Dad took me home and mom soaked my hand in epsom salts water. The next morning they decided not to take me to the doctor because it didn't seem to be getting too infected.
Harry Richard Chapman m: Emily Mae Cross abt 1945. Harry was shot to death Sept 4, 1967 in front of the Harriman Fire Dept.
