I'm researching Chapmans of Wythe County, Va., Blount County, Tn., Roane County, Tn. & Morgan County, Tn. The earliest one I have is John P. Chapman b: Mar 9, 1798 in Wythe County, Va. I don't know the names of his siblings and parents.
12-25-2002 I have come to believe there is a strong posibiliy that Benjamin Chapman (b: Baltimore County, Maryland,July 13, 1760, d: Roane County, TN abt 1840. Benjamin also lived in Washington County, TN, which is where John P. Chapman's wife, Sarah Humphrey McLin was born. Benjamin was a Revolutionary War soldier and served on the Maryland line and drew a pension in Roane County, TN.).
I'm also researching Taylors of North Carolina, and Roane and Morgan County, Tn.
