He married (1) MARTHA ELIZABETH HARRISION February 27, 1823, daughter of RICHARD HARRISION and RACHEL DORSEY. She was born October 09, 1805, and died May 05, 1908. He married (2) MARY ELIZABETH CALDWELL Abt. 1830, daughter of HARDY CALDWELL and SARAH BROWN. She was born February 27, 1800 in NC., and died Bef. 1900 in Sumner County, TN..

In the 1850 census for Sumner Co., Tennesse, Samuel and his family are listed.
Although Samuel's age is listed as 40, I have found out thru research, that his age was actually 45.

Copy of will probated on December, 1855. Will mentions two children of first marriage by name, second wife by name, brother John Morris, and brother-in-law John Rider.

SAMUEL MORRIS

In the name of God, Amen. I Samuel Morris being sick and weak of body, but of strong mind and memory, bring disclosure to dispose of my worldly substances. That it (?) Please God to bless me with in the following names that is to say: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Martha and my son James two feather beds and the furniture belonging to them, which is from the property of their mother, Martha. Also they are to have an equal portion of all the balance of my property. After my just debts are paid, and the property comes to me by my present wife, is to be for her own children. Benefits mean by the above, that my first wife's children is to have all the property that belongs to their mother. I state that my last wife's children are to have all the property, which came to my by their mother. I mean that my dear wife Elizabeth shall have all my property that remains after debts being paid. The two beds and furniture given to my wife during her widowhood. There at the expiration of that time, all the property that came by her is to be equally divided amongst her own children, and the balance of my property is to be equally divided between them and their older brother and sister, James and Martha.

Lastly, I do constitute approve it my dearly beloved brother and brother-in-law, John Morris, and
John Rider executers to this my last will and testament. Signed, sealed, and acknowledged in the presence of us, this fifth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and thirty six.
