David Rudder (son of Epaphroditus Rudder and Unknown) was born 1771 in Virginia, and died Bet. 1853 - 1860 in Washington County, AL862. He married Ann in Virginia.

David Rudder signed a petition to make Alabama into state (became a state in 1819). Petition for Citizens of Clarke County, Monroe County, Washington County, Mobile County and Baldwin County in the Mississippi Territory in October of 1817. David Rudder enlisted into the War of 1812 on November 30, 1812, in Washington County, Mississippi Territory as a MS Territory Volunteer (1st Regiment U.S. Volunteers).
On April 24, 1852, David received 160 acres in Choctaw County, Alabama for military service during War of 1812 ( Bounty Land Warrant #17,017). This Land Warrant was then assigned to John P. Cook on February 18, 1853, for value received and witnessed by William J. Boykin, Justice of the Peace of Choctaw Co., Alabama. This Bounty Land Warrant and Supporting documentation is currently on file in the National Archives in Washington D.C.
David Rudder acquired large plantations in Choctaw County and cultivated it with slave labor.
Federal census records show David Rudder in this territory from 1810 to 1860, at which time he would have been 89. He is possibly buried here along with his wife Ann, but we have not been able to find any grave markings for them.
David Rudder received about 200 acres from the original land grant to his father after a legal battle with some cousins in TN who tried to claim heirship. David attested to being the only child of E. Re: Revolutionary War Pension Claim Record #17580 - On 10/1/1849 David applied in Choctaw Co., AL for letter of administration on the estate of Lt. Epaphroditus Rudder, of the Continental Line of VA, & for bounty land on account of his services & stated that he, David, was the son & only heir of said Epaphroditus Rudder. The records show that satisfactory evidence was adduced in the court of said county to show that David was the son & only heir of Epaphroditus. He was allowed 200 acres of bounty land on Warrant #2472, on account of the services of his father.
